How to get to 3 Randle How Cottage

From the M6 leave at J36 ('South Lakes') and follow the A590 for 4 miles to its junction with the A591. Take slip road on left signposted Barrow then follow A590 for 20 miles to Greenodd. Take right turn on to A5092 and continue for 10 miles, passing over Grizebeck hill and, after a series of 's' bends, Foxfield (railway station on left). Just before traffic lights at Duddon Bridge take right to Ulpha & Eskdale. Follow this road for about 4 miles (care is needed) passing through Ulpha village. After Ulpha, look out for left turn to Eskdale and follow steep climb up on to Birker Moor. Follow fell road for about 6 miles until it drops down into Eskdale, past the King George IV and up the hill into Eskdale Green, at the village shop take a left down Randle How

From The North take the A595 from Cockermouth to Egremont and on to Gosforth, turn left into Gosforth and then right towards Eskdale, passing through Santon Bridge with views up Wasdale before dropping down into Eskdale Green.
